Hi Silvia, born under the Sagittarius sign of fashion, can you tell us about your path and the main influences that led you to the role of CAP74024 Editorial Director today?

I started studying fashion at a time when there was no Instagram, I mean Instagram was born at that time, but I needed fashion school first to even understand how to work with images. After that, I started working abroad. I started working as an assistant for different stylists, and after an intense period, I found out that in Milan the Chief Fashion Editor of Elle Italia was looking for an assistant, and soon after I became his assistant. I started shooting around the world, seeing beautiful places, and working on truly unique sets. After 3 years I moved to Vogue Italia, taking the path of fashion market editor. After this experience, I became head of PR and strategy at an influencer agency. I then got a call from CAP74024, an independent magazine, so I said to myself why not try the adventure of an independent magazine where all creative and business decisions are in the hands of a very very small group of people, so here I am.

Given your path, can one say in the end that it was you who chose fashion or did fashion choose you?

When put like that, fashion chose me, but because I did not have an alternative. The only thing I’ve learned over time is that there are very different figures in the field of fashion, many of which have come into being in recent years. But I’ve never considered anything else, I’ve never even thought of undertaking another course of study, so I’d say that perhaps fashion has chosen me.

What or who over the years has most influenced your style?

Well, I think more than talking about my style, I’d talk about my taste and I think over the years it's been influenced by the people I've worked with.

Can you describe what your style is?

I don't know because I have a very eclectic taste, in the sense that one day I can love a look in a sweatshirt, jeans, and trainers, and the next day, at 8 am, go out in a slip dress and heels. It depends on how I wake up, so I can pretty much feel myself in all the looks I wear. I have some staples, which are more, for example, rings, which are family pieces.

Name one city, one designer, and one fashion item that best reflects your style and describes who you are.

So, I don't know if it reflects my personal style, but it meets my taste, and it is at the moment a brand, but not so much that I feel like a woman in that brand, which is Bottega Veneta. It's not so much that I feel like a woman of that brand, but I feel very close to the creative direction that has been going on over the last few seasons, so from Daniel Lee to Matthieu Blazy I find that it meets my taste exactly.

What is the shoot you wish you had done and one you wish to do? Who is the main character, what look is she wearing and which photographer would you entrust the shot to?

Well, I’d say that there are a lot of shoots from the past that I would love to have done. So many iconic shoots by Steven Meisel, for Vogue Italia, for example, Makeover Madness, which was iconic in every aspect, from the styling to the photography. Talking about the future, let's say a character I’d love to interact with, but beyond shooting her for a photo shoot would be Chloë Sevigny. And I would love to see her photographed by Tim Walker or Vanessa Beecroft, with the idea of ranging into other worlds, because they are, let's say, artists, not just photographers.
